WPMU mu-plugin to list most recent posts across all blogs coming soon…
April 11th, 2008 by Dan YorkAs I’ve had now several requests for more info about what we did on our main page to list the most recent posts across all blogs, I just thought I’d put up a note to say that I will be posting the plugin script and writing more about that soon. I just need to clean it up a bit more and create a page with more info. It’s almost there…. sometime in the next week or two, hopefully.

Dan,
I just discovered your site and just wanted to say thanks! Thanks for documenting your WPMU tweaks and mods. I have been building WP sites for a few years now and am currently working on my first implementation of WPMU and have found that the most difficult part is finding clearly documented experience. Again, thank you!
I will continue to follow your progress and to document mine along the way. I would suspect that I’m at least a month or so away from releasing my MU install to the masses, but I’ll be sure and let you know about it.
p.s. Any chance we can get a Feedburner email option?

WPM, you are welcome! We will continue to document what we do here as much as we can.
Regarding a Feedburner email option, I now have implemented one - but it’s for our “all blogs feed” and not just for this blog. See:
http://blogs.voxeo.com/voxeotalks/2008/04/29/you-can-now-subscribe-to-our-blog-content-via-email/
The challenge I have is that each of the individual blogs uses the identical set of templates. Meanwhile, the Feedburner email subscription is unique to each blog. So it would seem that what I need to do is create a special widget for each blog… or do what I’ve done now and put in the link to subscribe via email to all blogs.
Perhaps because this blog is so different from our other blogs, I’ll see if I can do that here, at least.
Thanks for the suggestion, Dan
