What is new with Skype? What will the changes with a new CEO bring? What was the news about Avaya integration all about? What about Facebook integration?

On Oct 5th at ITEXPO West 2010 in L.A., host Dan York interviewed Skype Journal editor Phil Wolff about the latest news from Skype, including the new CEO. (Note: Since the time this was recorded, Skype came out with a new version 5 for Windows that provides some of the Facebook integration we discussed.)

This episode was also an experiment in shooting and producing a video *entirely* on the iPhone 4. Editing was done in iMovie on the iPhone. And yes, the next time I try this I will keep my finger out of the frame.

Yesterday Skype announced the beta of their “Skype For SIP” service that will allow Skype users to call premise call servers/IP-PBXs via SIP and for those servers to make outbound calls to PSTN phone numbers using Skype’s network and at Skype’s rates.
