“Tools for Developing Call Center Applications” Jose De Castro
Dialog design for contact center applications can be complex to begin with, and difficult to manage as one tunes or expands the application. Grammars must be developed, managed, and updated; navigation from one state to another can grow complex; new functions must integrate with existing functions; audio files for prompts must be managed. And once the development is complete, the application must be delivered efficiently. Development tools can help, and this session definitely will.

“Unifying Communications with Speech Technology” Adam Kalsey
Unified Communication (UC) integrates the compartments that were introduced historically by hardware-focused solutions and the separation of voice and data communications. As communications needs converge, systems based on computer and Internet standards allow minimal boundaries between functions. Speech technology is part of the convergence, allowing (1) conversion between voice and text, and (2) voice control of the increasing number of options. This session highlights how speech technology can make UC solutions more flexible and usable.

“Hosted and Managed Options for Customer Service” John Amein
Speech technology for customer service is more difficult to develop, tune, deploy, and manage than touch-tone solutions. Companies are increasingly looking to pay-for-usage hosted (“on-demand”) and/or managed services to avoid capital expenses or handle intermittent loads. This session discusses options and considerations in using hosted and managed speech services.
