Creating mobile web applications with VoiceObjects has become easier again: We have integrated VoiceObjects with the jQuery Mobile framework. Developers will now not only get a great, consistant out-of-the-box user interface on all relevant types of smartphones, but will also find it easy to tune the UI as needed.
We showed you examples of the new mobile web interface, and explain what it takes to get there.
Join our upcoming Jam Session scheduled for August 24, 2011.
In this developer jam session, Dan York, Director of Conversations at Voxeo, will walk through the changes in each of Voxeo’s core products, Prophecy and VoiceObjects, and explain what they mean to developers and how those new change can enable you to build even more powerful communications applications.

Location Based Services with Voxeo VoiceObjects – exploiting geolocation information in your IVR, SMS, and mobile Web applications
Knowing who is calling is a first step towards building a more personalized, tailored IVR experience. Knowing where your callers are can be the next one, opening up whole new types of apps. Whether you have a financial services IVR portal that needs an extra layer of security, a taxi dispatching service that you want to connect to the nearest driver, or a self service portal that you want to enrich with local announcements or personalized, location-based offers, is the answer.
In this jam session, Tobias Goebel, Sr. Systems Engineer at Voxeo will show how to utilize HTML 5 for mobile Web apps and a LBS API for your IVR and SMS applications. Coming to you live from Lat: 28.54115887666667, Long 81.37814527111112…

What is all the IPv6 buzz about? And how will it impact your communications applications? In February 2011, the last IPv4 addresses were allocated to the global registries. While IPv4 addresses will be available for some time, the reality is that IPv6 addresses will be required in the future. Service providers, enterprises and integrators need to understand how IPv6 works and what impacts it may or may not have on applications.
To learn more, join Voxeo’s Dan York for this exploration of IPv6 and what it means for you.

In this free webinar, Dan covered:
a quick overview of the basics of IPv6, including addressing, DNS, and some subtle differences between IPv4 and IPv6
how SIP and VoIP work in an IPv6 world
what you need to consider when looking to migrate an application to IPv6
In the session, Dan demonstrated VoIP communications over IPv6 using SIP and Voxeo Prophecy and provided resources to learn more. He also talked about the upcoming “World IP6 Day” on June 8, 2011.

Two thirds of today’s Internet users actively engage with social networks such as Twitter or Facebook. They use it mainly for personal communication, but often share feedback and thoughts about product or service experiences. Companies need to contribute to this conversation to protect their brands, enhance customer service or provide proactive customer care. They are or will soon be faced both with a staffing problem and the technical challenge of having to integrate with their more traditional customer interaction channels.Learn how Voxeo can help you automate communication over social channels and bridge the gap between social networks and traditional channels such as IVR or direct agent interaction.
NOTE: We discovered why we had the problem with Twitter and were not able to do a live demo – I wrote a post about it (and the fact that you unfortunately cannot depend upon Twitter’s reliability right now).
Many legacy IVR platforms are at or nearing end-of-life. While PeriProducer was once a powerful and effective IVR platform, customers are now looking to replace it with a next generation service creation, management and reporting environment that will protect their investment with 100% standards compliance and support for multiple customer contact channels – not just voice.
Voxeo’s new Migration Manager tool converts 95% of the buildings blocks of PeriPro applications fully automatically to VoiceObjects.
In this webinar, we will show you the process in action by: taking an existing PeriPro application, running it through the converter, importing it into VoiceObjects and making the first call to your new VoiceXML-based IVR application.
Join us to see how you can migrate your call flows in less than a minute to experience all the benefits of a next generation IVR without the risk.
Like the power of VoiceObjects with its multi-channel service capabilities, personalization features,
and integrated business reporting & analytics? Fear the overhead of setting up premise equipment to take
advantage of this next-generation customer self-service offering? Look no more. Voxeo now offers its flagship
service creation, management, and reporting environment as a production-ready On-Demand model as part of the
world-wide Voxeo cloud.
In this session, Tobias Goebel will walk you through the steps of setting up a free Evolution account,
building your first VoiceObjects call flow in the cloud, and deploying it as a voice and SMS application
all with free phone numbers to try it all out. He will also show you some of the reporting that comes
out-of-the-box and discuss extensions to get even more out of this powerful offering.
Speaker: Chris Matthieu, Director Business Development, Voxeo
Abstract: Phono SDK is a simple jQuery plugin and JavaScript library that turns any web browser into a phone; capable of making/receiving phone calls and sending/receiving instant messages for free. You can even connect to SIP clients and Tropo/Evolution App Ids; all with a simple unified API.
The Phono SDK is a pure client-side solution and requires zero server-side logic on your part; all communication is handled transparently by the Voxeo Cloud. In the near future Voxeo will release a downloadable Phono Gateway that allows Phono to connect to any SIP Voice over IP infrastructure directly without the Voxeo cloud.
A few interesting use cases that we have seen in the community include:
Click-to-call
Web chat
Video gaming VoIP conferences
Call center routing to agents via SIP
Browser conversations with users including page interaction
In this developer jam session, Chris Matthieu, Director Business Development at Voxeo Labs, will walk you through the Phono SDK capabilities and will perform some live coding to demonstrate how easy it is to add a telephone to your browser application.

Speaker: Dan York, Director of Conversations, Voxeo Corporation
Abstract: By 2014, Gartner Research estimates that social networking services will replace email as the primary communications vehicle for 20 percent of business users – and for many people this is already the case. As you connect to customers in social channels, a key question is – how can you scale that communication? If you have only a few people monitoring Twitter, what do you do when they go home? As you successfully interact with people on Twitter, how do you handle the growth?
Do you hire a whole new group of people to “tweet”? Or do you look at how appropriate forms of automation can help you scale your interaction?
Join Voxeo’s Director of Conversations, Dan York, in this free Developer Jam Session to explore how Voxeo’s tools and platforms can help you scale your usage of social channels. You will learn how to:
Monitor a Twitter account and take action on incoming messages or mentions.
Send urgent notifications via SMS or voice based on certain keywords that appear in tweets.
Craft appropriate automatic responses based on what customers send via Twitter.
Use an automated app can assist the person monitoring a Twitter account in collecting information to provide a response.
Tie your social interaction into the same analytics and application used for other communication channels like voice, SMS, IM, and mobile web.
Plus you will get a view of how these services can be extended to other social services like facebook.
