Photos: The Many Faces of SIPNOC 2011

Wednesday, May 4th, 2011

While at SIPNOC 2011 last week in Herndon, VA, I shot a good number of photos of the presenters and attendees. I’ve uploaded some of the better shots to our Flickr account and you can view the SIPNOC set there:

I tried to capture most all of the presenters there. The images are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution license which essentially means that you are welcome to use them as long as you link back to the photo (if online) or provide an attribution link in written material.

If you are in any of the photos and want a higher resolution version for your own usage, please just email me and can get one to you.

For photography geeks, almost all of the photos were taken with my Nikon D90. A few were taken with my iPhone 4. Most were not altered but a few had the “Enhance” edit done in iPhoto.

IPv6 Readiness BOF at SIPNOC April 26th

Thursday, April 21st, 2011

SIPNOCAre you attending SIPNOC next week in Herndon, Virginia? If so, are you interested in talking with others about real-time communication over IPv6?

SIPNOC organizer Marc Robins spread the word today that a number of BOFs (“Birds-Of-a-Feather” sessions… loose, informal gatherings) would be held at SIPNOC, including a 2-part BOF on “IPv6 Readiness“. Time has been allocated on the agenda for the IPv6 BOF on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at:

3:00-3:45pm

5:45-6:30pm

In both cases the IPv6 BOF will meet in the “Luray E” room.

I’ll be there at SIPNOC speaking about lessons we’ve learned at Voxeo in large-scale SIP interoperability and also on the topic of SIP security. Naturally, you can expect that I’ll be at both of these IPv6 sessions, too! ;-)

SIPNOC – Apr 25-27 – The SIP Network Operators Conference

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

SIPNOCOur friends over at the SIP Forum are in the process of putting together what sounds like a great event:

SIPNOC: The SIP Network Operators Conference

It will be held April 25-27, 2011, in the Washington, DC, area (Herndon, VA, to be precise). As they say…

SIPNOC is a unique event for service providers and carriers to gather to discuss the challenges of deploying and implementing SIP-based communications technology, and to learn the best-practices and strategies that enable the successful and profitable operation of SIP-based services and applications. SIPNOC is not a sales event, a marketing event, nor an event for corporate positioning.

I’ve been speaking with the folks at the SIP Forum about this event and I think it will be a great way to get people at service providers actually talking about the issues they are facing and discussing potential solutions.

By the way, the call for speakers is still open until next week if you are interested in speaking at the event.
