Introducing our “Voxeo News” section – a quick way to get a summary of Voxeo announcements

October 13th, 2009 by Dan York

voxeonews.jpgLast week with our Motorola announcement, we quietly introduced a new section of this website… something we are calling the rather not-flashy-yet-totally-accurate name of “Voxeo News”:

http://blogs.voxeo.com/news/

This actually came about after our CEO, Jonathan Taylor, asked if there was a single link to all our Motorola-announcement-related content that he could post in his Facebook status. We realized that because we do not just post a news release, we do need some way to aggregate all the content we put online as part of an announcement. Consider that in a typical news release, we publish some variation on the following:

It can be a lot of content – and Jonathan’s comment made us realize that we need to provide some way to aggregate links to all that.

So we’ve launched this new section. For each of the announcements we do in the future, we’ll be creating a page that includes:

  • links to all of the content we publish.
  • links to coverage of our announcement by others.

To include the latter content we will obviously be updating each page in the hours and days after the announcement goes live. You can see the first example here:

Now, in this particular case we didn’t generate a large number of posts because the news did not have a direct, immediate impact for our various developer communities. It does, though, show the direction of what we’ll be doing in the future.

We’re always looking for more ways we can help you all learn about what we are doing – if you have other ideas about how we can make our content more accessible to you, please feel free to leave those ideas as a comment here or email me directly. Thanks.
