Datamonitor names Voxeo as one of only two IVR vendors on “shortlist”

Tuesday, May 12th, 2009

Today we are pleased to announce that industry analyst firm Datamonitor named Voxeo as one of only two vendors on their “shortlist” for enterprise IVR vendors. Datamonitor’s report, titled “Decision Matrix: Selecting an IVR Vendor in the Enterprise” analyzed offerings from Voxeo, Aspect, Avaya, Cisco, Convergys/Intervoice, Genesys and Nortel. In the end, their conclusion was:

“Genesys and Voxeo are in Datamonitor’s ‘shortlist’ category and are considered to be the current leaders in the IVR market. These competitors have received the highest overall scores for the technology assessment and both scored well in the end-user sentiment ratings.”

Given our intense focus on providing Extreme Support and our goal of providing the best platform for developing voice applications, we were also pleased to see this statement:

Voxeo has received some of the highest scores in the end-user sentiment radar, particularly in the areas of service levels, customer support and client engagement. Voxeo achieved top scores for platform features and capabilities as well as development tools.

The report goes into a great amount of detail about all of the vendors – their strengths, weaknesses, capabilities and more. It makes for good reading if you are considering new investments in IVR technology.

But you don’t have to trust us – you can download the Datamonitor report for free and read it yourself.

We have spent a great amount of time, energy and resources on offering customers an outstanding platform upon which to develop IVR, Unified Communications, Self-Service and other voice/communications applications. We are pleased to see that recognized by Datamonitor.

Voice and web services? Cloud computing? – Video of Jon Arnold/Dan York interview at ITEXPO

Monday, October 13th, 2008

jonarnold-danyork-itexpo2008.jpgIs the role of “voice” diminished or enhanced by the availability of web services? How does voice fit into the “cloud”? Where do service providers fit into the picture?

Out at ITEXPO last month in Los Angeles, industry analyst Jon Arnold asked me (Dan York) to participate in a series of video interviews he was recording for his IPConvergence.TV site. In the interview, which is now available for viewing, we talked about “voice-enabling” business processes, web services, “cloud computing”, the challenges to service providers and customers and much, much more. Jon also asked me to talk a bit about what I see ahead of us in the next few years. It was a fun interview to do and I appreciated the opportunity.

NOTE: There is no way to currently embed the video, so you’ll need to watch it over on TMC’s site. I’ll also note that on my Mac I couldn’t watch the video in Firefox but instead had to use Safari. Now this may be due to some local configuration issue on my system, but I thought I’d mention it.

Voxeo positioned in “Visionaries” quadrant of Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for IVR and Enterprise Voice Portals

Friday, February 22nd, 2008

We are very pleased to announce today that we were positioned in the “Visionaries Quadrant” of Gartner’sMagic Quadrant for IVR Systems and Enterprise Voice Portals, 2008“. Given that we’ve only been selling our Prophecy premise product for two years, it’s a huge achievement in our view to be included along with other players who have been in the market much longer. As our CEO said in the release:

“We view our position in the Visionaries quadrant as further validation that Voxeo is enabling a fundamental shift in the way companies build and deploy voice applications,” said Jonathan Taylor, CEO of Voxeo. “Voxeo is only in its second year of premise IVR sales and we consider inclusion this early on in the product’s life cycle to be a significant milestone.”

Even though Prophecy has only been out in the market for two years, it’s based on the same rock-solid software we’ve used in our Evolution hosting environment for over 8 years. It’s an incredibly easy to use, extremely flexible voice platform based on open standards that don’t lock you in. Last year alone we had over 10,000 downloads of Prophecy and we know of its use in companies ranging from small innovative startups all the way up to large Fortune 500 companies. We’re delighted to be recognized by Gartner and look forward to continuing to enable even more companies to rapidly build and deploy voice applications!

P.S. If you aren’t familiar with Gartner’s “Magic Quadrant” reports, they are widely read analyses by Gartner analysts that offer a view of a specific market and the participants in that market. To read more about our placement in the Magic Quadrant for IVR Systems and Enterprise Voice Portals, you’ll need to view the report from Gartner (either through your existing access if you are a Gartner client or through purchasing the report).
