Video Interview with Voxeo CEO Jonathan Taylor: What is the Future of Real-Time Communications?

Monday, July 25th, 2011

What is the future of voice, video, text and other real-time communications technologies? Where is the innovation happening? What does our communication future look like?

That was the topic of a video interview by Chris Pirillo between VoIP industry veteran Jeff Pulver and Voxeo CEO Jonathan Taylor. Conducted using a Google+ Hangout, Chris described on his own site what the interview was all about and then made the video available on YouTube:

It was an enjoyable interview to watch live … and great to hear what Jonathan, Jeff and Chris had to say on the topic.

Slides from VoiceCon Orlando 2010 Sessions – Securing Communications and SIP Tutorial

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Last week at VoiceCon Orlando 2010, I was a panelist on two sessions and gave a 3-hour SIP tutorial. Two of those sessions involved slides and I’ve now uploaded those to our SlideShare account.

First up was the “Securing Communications” session where I provided this set of slides to help set up the discussion that followed:

The next day, I gave my 3-hour tutorial on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and used this set of slides:

My final session on Presence was discussion-only without slides.

Nancy says we’re pregnant…

Thursday, December 11th, 2008

So we’re pregnant, eh? At least, according to industry analyst Nancy Jamison…

I have to admit that of all the great coverage we’ve been reading over the past few days about Voxeo’s acquisition of VoiceObjects, the one post that definitely made me laugh the most was Nancy’s. I mean, when she titles her post “Voxeo Unified Communications Pregnancy Confirmed – no Due Date Announced” and starts her announcement coverage with this:

However, today, Voxeo announced a further acquisition, that when you dig down into it only confirms that Voxeo is heavily pregnant with a UC child, but just won’t admit the due date yet.

… well, it’s hard for me not to chuckle!

Thanks, Nancy, for the kind words… and yes, between our own Prophecy product, the SIP-based presence/IM products of Micromethod and now the development tools and multi-channel support of VoiceObjects, we have indeed assembled a wonderful communications toolkit… and more is on the way…

Stay tuned…

P.S. If you’d like to throw a baby shower for us, I’m sure we can come up with a wish list… ;-)
